1. Stomach irritation syndrome (Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS)
Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a chronic digestive disorder that affects the colon. IBS causes a reaction that is not stabilized in the intestine, such as diarrhea that can not be detained. The exact cause of this condition is unknown, but certain foods, like chocolate, can trigger IBS symptoms, according to MayoClinic.com.
2. Food allergies
Abdominal pain after eating chocolate can also be a result of food allergies. Chocolate products may contain ingredients that are very allergic, such as milk, soy, and wheat.
3. Lactose Intolerance
Most chocolate contains lactose, the sugar found in milk. Lactose intolerance or also known as lactase deficiency, causing abdominal pain within 30 minutes or until two hours after eating chocolate.
Because of the small intestine fails to create enough lactase, It's the enzyme needed to digest lactose, the excessive amount of bacteria can cause bloating, cramping and abdominal pain that cause diarrhea.
